Considered by some to be the best big man that the MAC conference had to offer this past season, Jarrod Jones has done an outstanding job of showing that he’s got the skills facing the basket to play power forward at the next level. More of a low post guy at the collegiate ranks, he showed a number of smooth fallaway jumpers to get the ball over longer defenders such as John Henson and Quincy Miller. Not having made a single 3-pointer until his senior season at Ball State, Jones showed the work and dedication to expand his range beyond the NBA arc in his time training in Houston with John Lucas Basketball Resources. In this incredibly deep NBA Draft, he’s probably on the outside looking in. However, he’s the type of guy who could easily make a roster in the right situation and would be an outstanding European player, if Jarrod opts to go that route.
Jarrod signed with Ukrainian power BC Kyiv for the ’12-13 season.
