Cliff Alexander and Carlton Bragg battle at McCracken County Festival of Hoops

Two of the nation’s finest post players went to work on Friday night when Carlton Bagg and Cliff Alexander squared off at the McCracken County Festival of Hoops. Bot standing 6-foot-9, the players couldn’t make more different games. The 245 pound Alexander dos the bulk of his damage within 8 feet of the cup, while the slender 200 pound Bragg utilizes his skill set as more of a face-up power forward. Their contrasting styles of play made for an outstanding matchup of elite players from the Midwest.

Ultimately, it was Alexander and Chicago Curie that got to the victory. Finishing with 25 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 huge blocks, Cliff did his damage in a more demonstrative fashion. He threw down a number of powerful dunks, rattling the backboard with each of his monstrous two-handed dunks. Bragg, on the other hand, battled foul trouble the entire game and did his damage with skill work. He threw down a number of impressive dunks in both warmp-ups and in game too, en route to 18 points and 13 rebounds in defeat. Playing for the #1 team in Ohio’s division four, the loss in an out of state tournament should still allow VASJ to stay atop of the next state poll.
