Though 9 years separated, brothers Eric and Eron Gordon have quite a bit in common. Both are 6’3 powerfully built guards, both can put points on the board with the best of them, and naturally, they both share the same parents. Both also received offers from Indiana early in their career, but one accomplishment that Eron trumps his Hornets’ star brother with is that IU offered him before he even reached high school.
Now following his family’s footsteps at North Central, the youngest Gordon has been putting up some serious numbers himself on the Indy HS scene. Like Eric, he owns a great first step, is incredibly shifty, and can finish through contact at the rim. Toughness seems to run in the Gordon’s blood, and that translates on the defensive end too where Eron uses his physicality to pester defenders. In fact, the same question that people had about Eric (which guard position he would play) seems to be the biggest concern about Eron. Eric disproved those concerns with a pair of 20 point seasons in the league and the Gordon’s middle brother, Evan, went under the radar so much that he had to spend a post-grad year at Hargrave in order to earn a scholarship. 3 years later and now at Arizona State, he’s yet another Gordon proving the doubters wrong.
With offers from Indiana and Purdue on the table, Eron has already received his fair share of love from the state’s finest. Most other Big Ten programs have begun showing interest and given his lineage, should put offers on the table sooner rather than later.
