Franklin Howard is a 2015 from Washington, DC. Howard plays his high school ball for Paul VI and runs with Team Takeover on the AAU circuit. The 6’4 shooting guard is already receiving interest from some of the top schools in the country and was selected to participate in the U-16 USA developmental camp in Colorado Springs last fall. Howard currently holds offers from Georgetown, Florida, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Villanova and many others.
Colleges are expressing interest for good reason as Howard is a great passer who finds open teammates for easy buckets. Howard has a reliable mid range game. He’s comfortable pulling up off the dribble and has the ability to get into the paint and finish with a right handed floater. Howard thrives in transition and finishes well around the rim. His length allows him to finish over smaller defenders and smother his opposition on the defensive end.
Paul VI will be a force to be reckoned with over the next several years as Howard is joined by fellow sophomore teammates Marcus Derrickson and Kevin Dorsey as well as freshman Tyler Scanlon. Now that Howard is on the radar of major college coaches it’s time that he’s introduced to high school basketball fans. Expect to hear much more from Franklin Howard over the next two years.
